The review process of the Journal of Service Management Research (SMR) is based on a structured peer review system. After submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope and quality standards. Submissions that do not meet these criteria are rejected at this stage.
Manuscripts that pass the screening are sent to independent reviewers selected by the editor. These reviewers evaluate the paper according to predefined criteria and provide detailed feedback and recommendations. Based on these peer reviews, the editor makes a decision, which often involves requesting revisions. Authors then revise their manuscript in line with the reviewers’ comments and resubmit it for further evaluation, typically by the same reviewers.
The process concludes with a final editorial decision—either acceptance or rejection—based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised submission.
